    The Memphis Grizzlies Human Resources Department is growing and we're looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our amazing team of HR professionals. This newly created position is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to several business units.  This role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support and driving HR functional excellence. The HRBP will act as an employee champion and change agent.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilites:

    • Influence and support decisions on organization design, culture, talent diversity, end-to-end people strategies and strategic planning with several business units.
    • Manages and resolves employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations and coaches/guides management to successful outcomes;
    • Develops and drives part-time company programs and initiatives (e.g.: rewards and recognition review, employee engagement, workforce planning, culture and organizational change);
    • Identifies learning and training gaps; coordinates with the L&D Manager to prioritize needs, develop and implement programs;
    • In coordination with the VP of HR, drives HR communications and initiatives throughout the organization;
    • Oversees the full-cycle talent acquisition process for all part-time positions, internships and assigned business units full-time positions; use creative and compliant sourcing methods to identify top diverse talent;
    • In partnership with the HR Manager, manage all onboarding of new employees, administering new hire orientation & training for all full-time and part-time employees;
    • In partnership with the HR and L&D Manager, creates training materials and conducts necessary employee compliance and development training;
    • Manages and maintains our HRIS system including design and updates to the system, reporting and data analytics;
    • Provides feedback to VP of Human Resources on potential issues and challenges within the organization that needs resolution at the executive management level;
    • Assists in the development and implementation of part-time personnel policies and procedures; manages the attendance program for the part-time staff;
    • Participate in and/or lead specific projects and other duties as assigned;


    Requires Skills, Experiences & Abilities:

    • Minimum BA degree; Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience required;
    • 3-5 years in a progressively responsible human resources business partner or generalist function, which includes responsibility for all areas of HR (i.e. training and development, employee relations, employee engagement and talent acquisition);
    • Experience with HRIS systems (ADP, Cornerstone and ICIMS preferred).
    • Experience advising managers on a range of people matters (e.g. employee relations, performance management, talent management; change management);
    • Strong organizational/time management, project management skills, and multi-tasking abilities along with strong follow through skills;
    • Working knowledge and application of federal and state employment laws.
    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written) and demonstrated ability to influence others while developing positive relationships at all levels of the organization;
    • Strong computer skills, including ability to work with Excel spreadsheets and Power Point;
    • Proven track record of successful HR project management working in a small team or with limited oversight;
    • Ability to work on sensitive matters with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
    • Ability to deal with a wide variety of people with diplomacy and tact;
    • Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
