Audio Video (AV) Technicians are responsible for setting up equipment used to enhance live events on behalf of the Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis Hustle, and occasionally FedExForum events as needed. They assemble microphones, mix sound boards, collaborate with additional technical team members, and provide technical support at live events collaborating with Event Operations, Broadcast, and visiting staff.

• Meet with Event Operations, Broadcast, and other stakeholders to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements for the production of live events;
• Laying electrical and sound cables;
• Conduct sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment;
• Inspect mountings and electrical equipment to ensure they conform to both health and safety regulations as well as league requirements;
• Operate sound and video equipment during live events;
• Troubleshoot equipment and ensures digital signage is operating at optimum capacity and displays proper material;
• Alert technical staff of any issues that may occur during show;
• Disassemble audio and video equipment after event.
• Other duties as needed.

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sound Engineering, Engineering, Broadcast/TV, Multi-Media Production, Communications or other related field, or the equivalent professional work experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years in set up of live remote TV broadcast, sports broadcast, live in- arena  events and/or  music productions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong planning and organization skills.
• Ability to multi task and meet strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of Reidel or Clear Comm communication setup.
• Strong understanding of HD Video & Audio signal dissemination.
• Familiarity with Computers and IP Networking Systems.
• Proficiency with MS Word and the Internet.
• Must be available to work during on evenings, select holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 20lbs.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
