This is a great opportunity for an ambitious developer interested in building a career in sports and technology with the Memphis Grizzlies organization.


The Developer I is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and enhancing websites and applications for Memphis Grizzlies, FedExForum, Memphis Hustle, Grizz Gaming and Grind City Media. This includes staying up-to-date with UX/UI trends and conducting user research to help drive design and development decisions.


As a member of the Marketing Technology team, this position works closely with all departments within the Grizzlies organization, including but not limited to Marketing, Sales, Community, Communications, Partnerships, Live Entertainment, and Promotions to execute technology related projects, programs and initiatives.


A critical part of the role is updating and uploading gameday content. The Developer I will be assigned games to work, and must be willing to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays, evenings, and weekends.


  • Build and update website functionality and features as requested using HTML, CSS, & JavaScript
  • Write clean, well-designed and responsive code
  • Upload new content such as special features, event updates, photo galleries, press releases, videos, and audio to websites, mobile apps and other digital platforms as needed
  • Work assigned gamedays which require the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Perform on-going quality assurance audits to ensure that all pages on the organization’s websites are up to date, mobile responsive and fan-friendly
  • Conduct user research to improve user experience on websites and mobile applications
  • Stay current on new web/mobile technologies and trends that can be applied to enhance user experience
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of professional Web Development experience
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JS, PHP
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with content management systems - Drupal and WordPress
  • Experience working with video and audio streaming platforms - YouTube, SoundCloud, Livestream and Twitch
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects
  • Experience with UX/UI tools such as Invision and Sketch
  • Experience working with web hosting providers such as Pantheon, Webfaction, and GoDaddy
  • Experience working with task management/communication tools such as Wrike and Slack is a plus
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information and learn new skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Must be focused, extremely detail-oriented and highly organized
