The Opportunity

A Building Engineer-Plumber will perform various tasks around the building and perform a variety of plumbing related maintenance and repair. This person’s work will pertain to hot water tanks, electrical and plumbing systems and kitchen equipment. The Building Engineer-Plumber must be able to communicate well with co-workers and individuals in various departments. This person will have integrity, a great work ethic, dependability, and will be someone who strives for excellence and has a positive can-do attitude.

In This Role You Will

  • Read blueprints to understand or plan layout of plumbing systems, mixing stations, and water supply systems.
  • Cut, assemble and install water shutoffs and working on different plumbing fixtures.
  • Locate and Repair issues with water supply lines.
  • Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, and faucets.
  • Install gas lines as pertains to kitchen equipment, chilled water pipes, and hot water pipes.
  • Become familiar with the building control system and all components associated with the climate control system, including monitoring and scheduling system.
  • Maintains facility-wide preventative maintenance program.
  • Assists Engineering and Facilities Manager with building repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Input, track and close out all building repairs and preventative maintenance using internal work order system.
  • Provides technical support, oversees and/or assists with repairs and maintenance of all facility systems and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • At least 2 years of related plumbing experience.
  • Proficient at reading schematics / architectural drawings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Dynamic, hardworking, confident.
  • Understanding of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • This position requires physical activity including standing, walking, climbing and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with good coordinating and project management skills.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.

Nice to Have:

  • Plumbing licensing preferred.
  • Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
