The Memphis Grizzlies are seeking a talented Copywriter to join our team, focusing on creating compelling promotional and performance marketing copy for the Grizzlies, FedExForum events, Hustle, and Grind City Media. The goal of this role is to ensure clear, persuasive, and consistent messaging across all marketing platforms. 

Copy:  

• Write and edit copy for various marketing platforms, including social media, websites, mobile app, email campaigns, live reads and promotional materials; 
• Develop and maintain a unified, consistent brand voice tailored to the core fanbase across all channels;
• Use copywriting expertise to drive engagement and conversions; 
• Follow brand guidelines and tone, in some cases helping to build/create and document said guidelines;  
• Collaborate with digital marketing, project management and creative teams to ensure cohesive and impactful copy;  
• Own the copy process from initial project requests to reviews and execution, updating and aligning all copy to ensure consistent messaging, grammar, and punctuation across various channels;
• Other duties as assigned.  

Partnerships Creative Support:  

• Fulfil production design needs for partnership obligations, including the creation of simple, non-Grizzlies-branded assets for partners and pitch decks; 
• When focusing on partner design requests, work closely with the Partnership team to complete design requests aligned with partnership agreement. 

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
• 4+ years of full-time professional copy writing experience.  
• Proven experience as a copywriter, preferably in marketing or advertising (with a professional sports focus, a plus). 
• Strong understanding of brand voice and ability to tailor messaging to different audiences. 
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills. Attention to detail is a must.  
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet hard deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
• Experience with content management systems and digital marketing tools. 

Metrics for Success: 

• Faster delivery of the finished product due to fewer required revisions 
• Consistency in messaging across all channels 
• Increased engagement and conversion rates across platforms 

Preferred:

• Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball, is a bonus.
