The Opportunity

The Audio Engineer 1 is responsible for executing all A1 duties across live and recorded productions, ensuring high-quality audio experiences for audiences. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced production environments.

In This Role You Will

  • Oversee the setup and strike of all audio equipment required for Arena Production, Broadcast, and Video Productions.
  • Operate and manage audio consoles during live events and recordings, ensuring optimal sound quality.
  • Ensure all patches and sub-feeds—including radio re-broadcasts, FX feeds, and full mix feeds—are properly routed to primary areas.
  • Mix all audio feeds and coordinate music playback under the direction of the producer.
  • Set up additional feeds for television and radio broadcasts, in-arena playback, team communications, and game officials as needed.
  • Conduct sound checks and troubleshoot audio issues in real time.
  • Collaborate with producers, technical directors, and other crew members to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain and organize audio gear, cables, and accessories.
  • Perform post-production audio tasks as needed.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sound Engineering, Audio Mixing, Radio TV/Film production or Broadcast/TV Production, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of required audio levels and types of sound sources.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, live environment.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to plan and organize information in an easy-to-understand format.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and the Internet.
  • Must be available to work during games on evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice to Have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in set up live TV broadcast, sports broadcast or live in arena sporting events and production.
  • Knowledge and passion for NBA basketball.
