The Opportunity

The Grizzline Manager will assist and support the Live Entertainment department by serving as the manager of the drumline for all Grizzlies and Hustle home games and team promotional events in an effort to deliver a world-class championship experience.

In This Role You Will

Manager Roles:

  • Produce and direct music and performances for all Grizzline appearances and shows. At least 1-2 new Beale Street charts per season.
  • Games should feature a variety of new music and production elements that correspond to game theming and collaborate with other Live Entertainment Teams.
  • Instruct and manage Grizzline members at all practices by teaching and choreographing all shows and appearances.
  • Create new and exciting ways to improve Grizzline’s on-court performance through the incorporation of props, staging, and fan engagement.
  • Lead Grizzline members at all home Grizzlies games through Beale Street performances, in-game elements, and on-court performances.
  • Be present at all rehearsals, appearances, and home games.
  • Ensure all Grizzline members are in the correct attire for games and performances.
  • Load, drive, and unload drums to off-site appearances as requested.
  • Set up and maintain drums for all games and appearances.
  • Schedule appropriate number of Grizzline members for every home game and appearances

Member Roles:

  • Serve the team as a front-line entertainment group on court during time outs and at outside team events utilizing specialized percussion skills to engage the crowd.
  • Come to games and events with all music and choreography prepared and memorized.
  • Support Live Entertainment Department full-time staff in various on-court productions.
  • Enhance the atmosphere of key in-game moments.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for our organization on-court, throughout the arena and at select team events
  • Work as a team to give the audience the best form of entertainment possible
  • Various other in-game activities

The Experience You Will Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Ability to read, write and play percussion music
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • Must maintain high levels of excitement and present a positive attitude at all games and events
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high pressure environment
  • Able to perform basic physical activities including but not limited to running, jumping, climbing stairs and carrying drums
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to interact professionally with internal and external clients at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
  • Solid understanding of NBA basketball, including an appreciation of the fan experience
  • Must be able to work cooperatively in a team setting
