The Front Entrance Experience Specialist owns the front entrance experience for the Memphis Grizzlies, creating a welcoming, professional, and secure environment for everyone who enters the building. This role combines access control and public safety support with thoughtful, personalized hospitality that helps employees, candidates, business partners, and guests feel expected, recognized, and cared for. 

More than completing a check-in, the Front Entrance Experience Specialist anticipates needs, notices important details, and takes ownership of the arrival experience while consistently upholding access, confidentiality, and safety standards.  

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable verifying credentials, navigating sensitive interactions, and welcoming all guests with warmth and professionalism. They understand that exceptional hospitality is not always about a grand gesture. It is about being prepared, creating meaningful connections, and making each interaction feel intentional. 

Front Entrance Hospitality and Experience 

• Own a polished, welcoming, and personalized front entrance experience that reflects the organization’s culture, brand, and service standards. 
• Greet and check in candidates, vendors, contractors, business partners, executives, special guests and visitors with warmth, discretion, and professionalism. 
• Review expected arrivals, meetings, interviews, deliveries, games, and events to ensure the front entrance is prepared and welcoming to guests.  
• Verify appointments and access requirements, notify the appropriate employee of each arrival, and manage the check-in experience until the visitor is connected with their host. 
• Anticipate visitor needs, communicate delays, and take ownership of questions or concerns by coordinating with the appropriate internal teams. 
• Maintain a welcoming, organized, and presentation-ready lobby and identify opportunities to improve the front entrance experience. 

Public Safety, Access, and Emergency Support 

• Serve as the first point of screening and sound judgment regarding who and what enters the building. 
• Verify visitor purpose and credentials, maintain visitor logs, and issue, track, and collect visitor badges. 
• Coordinate access for vendors, contractors, deliveries, and scheduled visitors in accordance with access-control and confidentiality procedures. 
• Monitor the front entrance, maintain situational awareness, and address or escalate unauthorized access, prohibited items, unusual activity, or other concerns. 
• Balance hospitality with security by applying access requirements consistently, respectfully, and professionally. 
• Remain composed during difficult interactions and seek support from Public Safety or emergency responders when a situation exceeds the position’s authority or training. 
• Follow emergency procedures and assist with notifications, evacuations, shelter-in-place protocols, and medical response coordination. 
• Document incidents, access concerns, and follow-up needs accurately and promptly while protecting confidential information. 

Administrative Support and Operational Readiness 

• Manage the multiline phone system and route calls with professionalism, accuracy, and care. 
• Receive and coordinate deliveries, mail, packages, and visitor parking validation. 
• Maintain accurate visitor, access, delivery, and operational records and communicate relevant facility updates. 
• Conduct opening, closing, and front-of-house readiness checks, addressing or reporting cleanliness, safety, presentation, and maintenance concerns. 
• Submit work orders and coordinate follow-up with the appropriate teams. 
• Support arena events, meetings, employee activities, and other operational needs within the reasonable scope of the role. 
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all guests and organizational activity. 
• Other duties as assigned.  

• Minimum of an associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 
• Three or more years of experience supporting visitor access, facility operations, building security protocols, access control processes, CCTV, or a related area.  
• Two or more years of guest services, reception, hospitality, or other high-visibility customer-facing experience. 
• Strong hospitality instincts with the ability to notice details, anticipate needs, personalize interactions, and take ownership of concerns. 
• Sound judgment, emotional intelligence, professionalism, discretion, and situational awareness. 
• Ability to remain calm, communicate clearly, and balance thoughtful service with access, safety, and confidentiality requirements. 
• Professional presence and comfort interacting with employees, candidates, executives, VIP, special guests and/or visitors. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including accurate incident documentation. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn visitor-management, CCTV access-control, phone, and incident-reporting systems. 
• Ability to build effective working relationships across departments and with external partners. 
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, games, and special events as needed. 

Nice to Have: 

• Experience using Cisco, RingCentral, or another multiline phone system.  
• Experience in an arena, stadium, entertainment venue, premium hospitality environment, corporate office, or other high-traffic facility.  
• Experience supporting high-profile arrivals or using visitor-management and access-control systems.  
• Knowledge and appreciation of basketball, sports, entertainment, and the fan experience.

Physical and Scheduling Requirements 

• Ability to remain stationary and/or move throughout the reception, lobby, and facility areas for extended periods. 
• Ability to occasionally lift or move packages, supplies, or materials weighing up to 25 pounds. 
• Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, games, and special events as required by business needs. 
• Ability to respond appropriately and move throughout the facility during emergency or high-priority situations.
